This Christmas season, kids will have two exciting reasons to be extra merry as Jollibee Kids Meal launches its latest toy offering, the Jollitown Build and Craft Blocks and its newest breakfast offering that kids will surely enjoy—the 2-piece ChocoNut Pancakes with regular pineapple juice, all in the first-ever Jolly Joy Box interactive packaging.

Jollitown Build and Craft Blocks feature Super Shapers, Jolly Stamper, and Fun Tracer—three sets of colorful blocks and pieces that kids can play with to build different structures using their creativity and imagination.

Bumper to Bumper, the longest-running car show and automotive lifestyle event, is once again happening on December 5 and 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Now on its 11th year, the multi-event happening features the biggest production setup in any car show in Asia. 


"Filipinos love car shows because we can relate to the cars we see. It is always a delight for us to see so many nice cars in one place. You can always see the excitement in people's eyes when they are in a car show and you also know deep inside that they feel inspired—that one day, they will also have these upgrades or these kind of rides in their garage," muses Jonathan Chio, CEO of Ladder Events Production. 

Since 2005, Bumper to Bumper (B2B) has been bringing the car show not only to Manila but to 10 key cities, including Baguio, Batangas, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Laguna, La Union, Pampanga, and Pangasinan. It is the only local car show known to do so, in its pursuit to bring the best of the best automotive mods across the Philippines. 

Chio furthers, "Bumper to Bumper Car Show is like a theme park of sorts, a theme park for car enthusiasts. We have a wide array of vehicles on display, we have full blown entertainment to fill in your time, and we have unique activities all the time during the event."


The event usually attracts a crowd of 70,000 car enthusiasts and spectators. This year promises to be bigger and better. Activities include a two-division (Pro and Street category) car show competition, off-road vehicle display competition, engine roar competition, drive-in movie, dance showdown, concert, and Sneaker Fever Manila for those who love kicks. 

"There are so many things B2B has done to our market. A lot of shops that does not have big budgets for bigger shows were known to have started in our car shows. We have given work opportunities to our car show models. Our event has served as a playground for aspiring photographers and bloggers. But more importantly, a lot of long lasting-friendships were born in our events," says Chio. 


Exciting events to look forward to in 2016 include the B2B Car Show Sinulog in January; "Hot Import Nights V Manila” to be held at Metro Tent, Metrowalk on April 23 and 24; “Hot Import Nights Davao” to be held at The Peak in Davao City; and the first-ever Race Wars Unlimited Philippines.

These OH radicals decompose the proteins on the surface membrane of the airborne threats by taking the hydrogen. Without protein, the airborne threats are disabled and in effect, deactivated. The hydrogen then combines with OH radicals, and together they transform into water which is released into the air.

Why the particular interest in asthma? Asthma is a chronic condition that can cause a variety of respiratory symptoms, including coughing, wheezing, a tightening in the chest, and difficulty breathing. It is a very common condition, with almost 11 million sufferers in the Philippines alone. That’s roughly one asthma sufferer in ten Filipinos. This condition can be exacerbated by a number of common elements found in any home: dust, dust mite allergens, mold, and other airborne allergens, which can’t be eliminated by surface cleaning alone.

Just the other day, I was able to prove how long the battery really lasts.  While I was using it, I forgot to turn it off before leaving the house. I left in the morning and came back around 9 pm. If there's one thing I love to do.. it's shopping! And grocery shopping is no exception. I love stocking up our ref., storage, cabinet with goodies, meats, vegetables and anything I can find inside the grocery. I love groceries that offers a lot of varieties and complete with all your needs and necessities. And this is what I discovered at the newly opened Robinsons Selections in Venice Grand Canal Mall, McKinley. It's the second and biggest store from the grocery-chain giant Robinsons Supermarket. 


It's my first time to visit Robinsons Selections (their 1st branch is in Eight Forbes, Burgos Circle, BGC), and I'm simply amazed that they have sections that offers wider assortment for everyone. 


And we all know Robinsons Supermarket is an advocate of health and wellness, and they've been doing it for 30 years, I'm happy to see that they have a specific section at Robinsons Selections where they offer fresh fruit juices, fruits in a cup (perfect for people on-the-go), salad and healthy snack.


Didn't know we can buy readily-made salad. And I'm glad there's a lot to choose from. I think this is perfect for healthy-healthy-han snack!

COOK MAGAZINE’S 5TH HOLIDAY BASH

It’s that time of the year again. As a way of thanking their advertisers for their unending support, Cook Magazine celebrates its 5th annual Holiday Bash. An occasion to mingle, enjoy the food and drinks and be merry, the Cook Holiday Bash is held primarily to recognize our 2015 Top Advertisers, without whom Cook Magazine would not be the country’s longest running monthly food publication. 

Cook Magazine, in celebrating its 15th year of publication, continues to look for ways to involve our readers and evolve into a more complete experience. While sharing recipes and food finds through articles and pictures are what we’ve been doing for over a decade, we’d like to bring the reader closer to the action and actually take them along in our journeys of food discovery. 

Last year, we launched the Cook Magazine Studio Kitchen, a venue where cooking, eating and food photography all seamlessly blend. The kitchen has had a bit of a spruce up recently, with Mother’s Best sponsoring kitchen cabinetry and a new backsplash. The addition added some warmth to the kitchen and provides a space to display products like Mother’s Best condiments.


On the editorial side, we also added a couple of new sections to the magazine. Our Home & Living section contains crafts, decorating and DIY projects. The Health & Wellness section by our good friend, Dolly Dy-Zulueta features food and beverage products, restaurants and destinations that promote wellbeing. 


COOK CLUB

Being in the food publication industry, restaurant invitations are a daily occurrence for the Cook team. Whether it is to try out and feature newly opened places, new menu items from old favorite digs or to meet and greet clients and potential advertisers, eating is and has always been a part of our job. But among our numerous dining adventures, our Foodie Road Trips are the most fun and most anticipated. These are the trips out of town we do to discover dining destinations, a food tour that takes us to towns big and small in search of the best eating a province has to offer. Of course, it doesn’t just stop with the eating. These trips are also opportunities to see the sights, enjoy the hotels and resorts and meet fellow food lovers all around the country. 

Cook Club was established for our loyal readers, so that we can take them along on these food tours and share with them the discoveries we make. Travelling by land provides us the opportunity to bond with our members during the journey, while at the same time having the flexibility to stop and make detours as we wish. Aside from the food, Cook Club members will also experience the same hospitality extended to us by partner hotels and resorts throughout the country. 

As part of Cook Club, members also get to share their favorite recipes and foodie finds. Not only will these be posted on our Facebook page and website, but our favorite members’ posts will also be published in Cook Magazine every month. It is our way of giving our readers the complete Cook Magazine experience, bringing them along in our journey of food discovery and sharing these experiences with the world through our magazine, website and through social media. Cook Club literally lets each reader become a member of the Cook Magazine team.

GIVE THE GIFT OF A JOLLIER CHRISTMAS AND BE A PART OF THE 21ST MAAGA ANG PASKO

Making every Christmas brighter and more joyful for over two decades, Jollibee celebrated the launch of Maaga ang Pasko, now on its 21st year. This 2015, the country’s longest-running annual toy and book drive is continuing its mission to inspire more kindhearted Filipinos to donate gifts and spread the early Christmas cheer to less fortunate kids. 

Spearheading the donation drive as lead Jolly Toy Scouts are child actor Marco Masa, The Voice Kids Philippines Season 1 grand winner Lyca Gairanod and finalist Darlene Vibares, and Goin’ Bulilit kids Angelo Alayon, JM Gacayan, and Belle Mariano. The new batch of Jolly Toy Scouts hope to inspire other kids like them to share their pre-loved toys and books to make other kids happy.

During the various campaign launches held nationwide, these kids led by example by donating their own toys and books.

Eleven-year-old Darlene gave away a coloring storybook that her beloved grandfather gave to her. “I learned how to read through this book,” she said. “I hope whoever receives it enjoys the stories as much as I did.”

Like Darlene, JM also donated a gift for budding bookworms. “My wish is that like me, another child gets to benefit from reading this book.”

A teddy bear that is dear to her heart was 10-year-old Lyca’s contribution. “It’s important to me because it was given by a fan. I always have this doll beside me when I sleep at night because it’s one of my favorites,” the young singing champion said.

For Marco, it was a cherished toy plane that his older brother gave to him. “I really love this toy but I want to make other kids happy this Christmas, so I am donating it,” he said.

Marco Masa adds his name to the Maaga Ang Pasko commitment wall – a promise to share joy this Christmas season by donating his beloved toy.

Belle donated a ball that she treasures. “I won this in an arcade game for my little brother,” she said. “He has grown bigger now and is interested in other toys, so I thought other younger kids would appreciate it more.”

Jolly Toy Scout Belle Mariano gladly donates two stuffed toys, a book, and a ball for other kids to enjoy this Christmas.

 Angelo decided to give something for other kids like him who like toy automobiles. “This car and train were given by my daddy when I was four years old. To whoever receives them, merry Christmas!”

Jolly Toy Scout Angelo Alayon commits to sharing the Christmas joy with his fellow kids by giving his toys and books.

 The Jolly Toy Scouts were joined by Jollibee Kids Club (JKC) members from Jollibee branches in Tanza, Cavite, Walter Mart in North EDSA, Guiguinto Highway in Bulacan, Ayala Cebu, Gaisano Tibungco in Davao, and Amang Rodriguez in Pasig City, who all shared their pre-loved toys and books to the Maaga ang Pasko campaign.

Apart from leading the donations, the Jolly Toy Scouts also delighted kids and kids-at-heart with their performances of favorite Christmas carols. They even performed a special number with everyone’s favorite friend – Jollibee—putting the audience in a festive holiday mood. What’s more, the stars pledged to help make the holiday season more meaningful, leading the JKC members in putting their names in the commitment wall to help inspire other kids and kids-at-heart to follow suit. 

“For us Filipinos, Christmas is not only a time to celebrate, but also a time to share and be a blessing to our fellowmen,” said Jollibee Global Brand Chief Marketing Officer and Jollibee Philippines Marketing head Francis Flores. “We are always thankful for the incredible support that Maaga ang Pasko receives from Filipinos for the past two decades. This year, we are counting on our Jolly Toy Scouts to once again help us spread Christmas joy to more kids in need.”
